Manual installation
Manual installation is a method adopted under single or low production conditions, and the installation method is as follows:
Insert one end of the retaining ring into the groove by hand.
Press down and rotate the retaining ring along the periphery of the groove until the retaining ring is completely wound into the groove.
Semi automatic and automatic installation
Designing simple tools or fixtures can achieve fast and automatic assembly operations. To install the shaft with a retaining ring on the shaft, a sleeve and a tapered plug with a narrow top and wide bottom can be used to assist in installation. The slope of the plug is about 6 °; Place the plug at the end of the shaft and use a movable sleeve to push the retaining ring into the groove from the plug. Hand press presses or pneumatic rods are often assembled in this way.
The hole retaining ring is also installed in a similar way. A tapered sleeve with a wider top and narrower bottom allows the sleeve to easily push the retaining ring into the groove. Assembly tools must have a hard surface to reduce wear and tear.
Dismantling method
